Core Values of Personality Development

Hi! I am Milind. After observing closely the potential that Gen Next is displaying, I wish to employ my experience to help them enhance their personas and optimise their talents.
After tiding over some difficult times, and having done well in terms of academic achievement and corporate success, I believe that my understanding of the professional environment will go a long way in polishing young talent. What is remarkable about personality is that you can keep sprucing it up eternally. Age is no barrier to give your personality a make over, and the more self esteem you have, the better will be your self confidence to radiate a self-assured personality. Today, appearances are often considered the whole and soul of developing a strong personality. Unfortunately though, in business, the old adage `never judge a book by its cover` still holds good, and apart from an external façade, what goes into building a positive persona is:

1) Confidence.
2) The ‘Never say Die’ spirit
3) High self esteem.
4) The Ability to succeed in face of adversity.
5) No worry about criticism from others, and
6) An ability to back yourself.

People like Richard Branson have succeeded by equipping themselves with an abundance of these. Vijay Mallya too was criticised when he ventured into the F1 business, however a never say die spirit and an ability to back himself, got him a podium finish vindicating his decisions.

  1. Apart from the first three important parameters that Milind mentions in the blog, i guess there could also be one more parameter which may add immense value in shaping one's personality - The role model that he/she follows..Fortunately for the Generation next, there are plenty of role models in the real world itself..Narayan Murthy, Azim Premji, Ratan Tata, APJ Kalam ..its a long list.I guess when one gets into professional education, its the peer pressure that counts while in the professional life presence of these role models could be very crucial in shaping his/her overall personality..

  2. I totally agree with Ajit's comment that Role models are a key parameter to shaping one's personality and this gives me an input for my next blog on Personality Development.
    Thanks Ajit.

  3. I would like to put forth a thought slightly apart from everything vital that is already mentioned by Mr Vartak and Mr Gokhale..... I think knowing SELF is the primemost important step towards achieving anything worthwhile for oneself. In absence of realisation of SELF all the stories about role models can in fact be pressurizing and give a greater sense of directionlessness.....The situations, The Struggle, The Hindrances, The Perseverance, The SUCCESS! of the role models are driven by their inner SELF - the way they recognize it and acknowledge it and channelize it.......So, i believe that let's unite in helping today's youth realize their SELF. SELF drives people towards different role models in their lives. I doubt the utility of presenting the lauded role models to the youth in general without helping them analyze their SELF.

For some - Dawood Ibrahim might be the role model??!!

Though we are not planning to target such audience, I believe a larger role in personality development lies in helping everyone - without applying any selection criteria - to know themSELVES.

Lessons on Learning to Dream - SWOT Analysis - Marking Goals - Working towards Goals - Achieving Goals and Realizing Dreams would follow.

What say?? Sorry if I am off track.....but thought could share my views on this platform.

    Regards
